WORRY PET CROCHET PATTERN

The much loved Worry Pet pattern can be found here! Look no further you crafty bunch, get ready to spread that crafty love and random acts of crochet kindness by joining myself and many others in hiding these randomly in public for people to find!
Back in the lockdown of 2020 I came up with this cute design and loved the fact it used up those little scrap balls of yarn that aren't enough for a big project, but are too large to throw in the scrap bin. Speaking of scraps, instead of throwing small yarn scraps and offcuts away use them to stuff these Worry Pets, that way they're filled with love, magic, determination and patience.
These guys get hidden with a little note attached to them explaining that if you found one, it was meant to be - and if you feel stressed, anxious, sad or lonely give it a squeeze to release all the crochet magic.
For a printable PDF file of the note I wrote and use, you can find it in my Ravelry library here
Otherwise you can always write your own notes to leave with them!
Anyway, let's make the world a better place, one Pet at a time.

Assembly
Take up the body of the Worry Pet and the safety eyes, you want to set the eyes in on R6 (3 rows above the colour change if that helps), 6 stitches apart.

When the eyes are set in, take up some toy stuffing and stuff around the top of the body and the eyes so they don’t bulge out strangely, then take up your yarn scraps that were destined for the bin and stick them in the Pet! Bunch up the scraps and work them in as stuffing, when you’re happy with the squishiness of the Pet, pop a small amount of normal stuffing at the end so the yarn scraps cant be pulled out.
Thread up your yarn needle and sew the hole closed with an Ultimate Finish.

Next, take up the horns and pin them to the top of the Worry Pet’s head making sure they’re in line. When you’re happy with the placements sew them on as neatly as possible.

Then that’s it!
You’re done!
Enjoy your new adorable Worry Pet!
Get out there and spread some crafty love and random acts of crochet kindness.
